The GR USBC

Who is the GR USBC?

The GR USBC (Greater Richmond United States Bowling Congress) was formed when the three separate corporations, the GR USBC BA, the GR USBC WBA and the GR YBA agreed to merge into one corporation. This was made official at a group open membership meeting of all three associations on May 16, 2010.

The merged board took office on August 1, 2010.

What does the GR USBC do?

  • Checks and certifies all bowling lanes
  • Assigns a member of the Board of Directors to each bowling center to help certified league bowlers
  • Processes all league certification applications to the United States Bowling Congress
  • Promotes and conducts association tournaments for youth and adults
  • Distributes league supplies to all league secretaries
  • Maintains individual records of all members
  • Interprets rules, furnishes counsel and guidance to assist members and leagues in settling problems
  • Conducts hearings relative to infraction of USBC and city association rules
  • Assists with youth activities through cooperation with the youth committee and members of the Board
  • Publishes an annual yearbook showing averages of USBC certified bowlers for winter season leagues
  • Maintains averages of USBC certified bowlers for summer season leagues
  • Processes all USBC awards and distributes to the league secretary
  • Processes all honor score award applications to the USBC and presents the awards to the bowlers
  • Holds an annual Hall of Fame dinner and dance
  • Collects funds for the Bowling Veterans Link (BVL)
